Agrippina has been brutally murdered by her son, the Emperor Nero. Anger over her resistance to Nero's desire to marry Poppaea Sabina led Nero to order Agrippina to be stabbed this morning.Inside sources who were close to Agrippina say that this was not Nero's first attempt at matricide. Nero is said to have attempted to kill Agrippina several times; first by poison, then by rigging her ceiling to collapse on her while she was in bed, and even sending the former Empress out to sea to drown in a leaky boat.
The execution was carried out by her son's spear-carrying soldiers. Interviews with soldiers have provided Sententia Publicus with details of Agrippina's last moments. "Smite me here, this is the womb that bore Nero," Agrippina cried just before the soldiers obliged.
With Agrippina out of the way, Rome is finally free of her power-hungry manipulation. Sadly, it looks like it may be replaced by Nero's increasing despotism instead.
